If you are currently employed as a teacher by a public or private institution, you may qualify for a teacher collection card. On a teacher collection card, you may check out up to 30 items.
We also offer a staff selection service -- if a teacher requests it, library staff will pull books by title, author, subject, reading level, or from a list. Requests may be made by telephone, fax, or email. Requests must be made five days prior to the date needed. Teachers/organizations will be notified by telephone when the requested items are available for pickup. Starting from the day of notification, items will be held at the Circulation Desk for a maximum of five working days. This service is not available during June and July.
For a complete list of teacher/organizational collection policy rules, and a form to sign up for a teacher collection card, please stop by the Youth Desk. Teachers must show identification issued by a public or private institution to qualify.
Interested in setting up a tour of the Library for your class? Give us a call! We do tours for students of all ages. We can also do a storytime or bibliographic instruction (in using the catalog and/or understanding the Dewey Decimal System), and we can tailor the content of our storytime or instruction to your current lessons. Tours last about 20 minutes; a tour plus a storytime lasts about 45 minutes.
If you are interested in setting up a tour, please call the Library at (940) 767-0868 ext. 4243 to arrange a date and time.
