Join the summer reading challenge, enjoy live music, and participate in activities while we kick off Summer Reading 2025: Color Our World.
Teen Anime Squad

Teen Anime Squad

This squad is for teens, ages 12-19, and for fans of all things anime! The squad will meet in the Room of Requirement at 4:30pm on the second Tuesday of every month to watch anime and discuss manga.
Library Book Clubs

The library has 3 book clubs open to all adults:
Between the Lines: Fiction & Nonfiction books: First Friday of each month at 10:15am
The Side Quest: Sci-Fi and Fantasy books: First Tuesday of each month at 6:00pm
Graphic Ink:Graphic Novels: First Monday of each month at 6:00pm

  • No internet or phones Saturday May 10th

    Thursday, May 1st, 2025

    As part of the ongoing renovation of the City Hall/Memorial Auditorium building, internet and phone service for City offices including the library will be unavailable Saturday May 3rd and Sunday May 4th Saturday May 10th and Sunday May 11th while equipment is being moved.

    This will effect phone service, public computers, self-checkouts, and automated returns.

    This work is scheduled to be completed by the end of Sunday.

    Update : postponed to May 10th and 11th due to weather.

  • May Entryway Display

    May Entryway Window Display: Warrior Art Brigade

     

    Every month, a community organization decorates our front entryway window display. This May, our window display is provided by Warrior Art Brigade, an organization dedicated to supporting veterans and active-duty military personnel through the power of art.

    Community organizations wishing to sign up for a display may contact Fox Baker at fox.baker@wfpl.net.

    Have you seen the Library's van around town yet? Last week, we were at the Live at the Lake Art Market at MSU and today we are at Baby Day in Sikes Senter!

    We have library swag to give out and information about this year's Summer Reading.

  • Daughters of the Texas Republic visit library

    Daughters of the Republic of Texas

     

    The Rebecca Jane Fisher chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas visited the library to see our Texas Room.

    The Texas Room was established in 2020 to house our non-circulating Texas Reference materials. The Texas Room also houses library archival material and our Texas Quilt, pictured above, for which patrons colored Texas-themed quilt squares.

    The Texas Room is available during library opening hours for persons accessing materials from the Texas Reference collections.
