These digital resources are supplied to our cardholders at no charge. Remote access is available for all databases EXCEPT Ancestry Library Edition, NewspaperArchive.com, and the Digital Archives of the WFPL. Most databases require your library barcode for remote access. Texshare Databases (T=Texshare) have a special login which may be obtained by calling the Service Desk at 940.767.0868 x4234 (You must be a WFPL cardholder to use the library's Texshare login) Remote off-site patrons must use this group Texshare link not the individual Texshare database links below.

  • Gale Literary Sources - Cross-search several of Gale's premier literature databases in a new digital environment, including Contemporary Authors, Dictionary of Literary Biography, Literature Criticism Online, Literature Resource Center, LitFinder, Something About the Author, Scribner Writers on GVRL, and Twayne's Authors on GVRL.   • Digital Archives of the Wichita Falls Public Library - contains searchable images of the Wichita Falls newspapers 1977-1990. Available for library cardholders only. USERNAME & PASSWORD available to library cardholders.

  • Fold3.com - the premier collection of original military records online. Fold3 provides convenient access to US military records, including the stories, photos, and personal documents of the men and women who served. Remote access is available with your library card.

  • HeritageQuest Online - includes searchable US Federal Census images as well as family histories, genealogical serials, local histories, and primary sources in full image. Provided by the Texas State Library's Texshare Program. T

  • Heritage Hub - Explore your family history with the premier collection of U.S. obituaries and death notices for in-depth genealogical research from 1824 - today. HeritageHub helps you easily identify relatives, uncover new information and potentially unknown family members. Includes deep coverage from all 50 states, hard-to-find content from the mid 1900's, and original obituary images. Access is available 24/7.

  • Sanborn Maps for Texas - Sanborn maps are valuable historical tools for urban specialists, social historians, architects, geographers, genealogists, local historians, planners, environmentalists and anyone who wants to learn about the history, growth, and development of American cities, towns, and neighborhoods. They are large-scale plans containing data that can be used to estimate the potential risk for urban structures. This includes information such as the outline of each building, the size, shape and construction materials, heights, and function of structures, location of windows and doors. Full text is also available for thousands of biographies and historical essays.
